A Journey Home: Mariyakutty Joseph Reunited with Her Family
We are deeply grateful and happy to share that Mrs. Mariyakutty Joseph has safely returned to India and is now at her home in Idukki, reunited with her family.
Her journey was not easy. She faced a difficult and distressing situation in Kuwait, compounded by her deteriorating health. Her emotional testimonial reflects the fear, uncertainty and hardships she experienced during those difficult days. Today, seeing her safely back home with her loved ones is a moment of immense relief and happiness for all of us at KANIV Indian Welfare Community.

KANIV IWC Medical Camp 2026 – Cancer Awareness Session by Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair
As part of the KANIV IWC Medical Camp 2026, an enlightening Cancer Awareness session was conducted by Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair, Medical Oncologist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center. The session was organised with the objective of educating the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait about the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, and timely medical intervention.
Dr. Susovana emphasised that cancer is not always a death sentence and that many types of cancer can be successfully treated when diagnosed at an early stage. She explained the common warning signs of cancer, major risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet, obesity, physical inactivity, excessive alcohol consumption, and certain infections, while highlighting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
The awareness talk also focused on the significance of regular health screenings, self-examinations, and periodic medical check-ups. Participants were encouraged to seek medical advice without delay if they noticed unusual symptoms, rather than ignoring them due to fear or misconceptions. Dr. Susovana stressed that awareness, early diagnosis, and prompt treatment are the three pillars that significantly improve survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients.
The interactive session addressed several questions from the audience regarding cancer myths, hereditary factors, preventive vaccinations, and the latest treatment options available. Her clear explanations and practical advice helped dispel common misconceptions surrounding cancer and empowered attendees to make informed decisions about their health.
The Cancer Awareness session received an overwhelming response from participants and became one of the highlights of the medical camp. The KANIV Indian Welfare Community (KANIV IWC) successfully conducted its Free Medical Camp on 10 July 2026 at Apollo Clinic, Mahboula, with an overwhelming public response from the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait. The event attracted hundreds of participants, reflecting the growing importance of accessible preventive healthcare and community-based medical initiatives.
The medical camp provided free consultations, health screenings, and expert medical advice across various specialties. Patients received quality healthcare services from a team of experienced doctors and healthcare professionals in a well-organised and patient-friendly environment.
KANIV IWC extends its heartfelt appreciation to Apollo Clinic for its generous partnership, outstanding hospitality, and unwavering commitment to community healthcare. The clinic’s support was instrumental in making the event a resounding success.
The organisation also expresses its sincere gratitude to all the specialist doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and support staff of Apollo Clinic for their professionalism, compassion, and dedicated service throughout the programme.

Stranded Indians – 27 March 2026
Some of our North Indian brothers reached out to KANIV IWC, seeking help, as they are currently stranded due to the ongoing situation and unemployment, while awaiting ministry approval to return to India.
Our team personally visited them on 26 March 2026 to verify their situation, and we found their condition to be genuinely difficult. Moved by their hardship, we revisited them on 27 March 2026 and provided essential groceries to support them during this challenging time. Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Hameed Paleri (President), Mr. Shahul (Executive), and Mrs. Reseena for their compassion, generosity, and commitment to helping those in need.

KANIV Harmony Iftar Evening 2026

KANIV Indian Welfare Community had the honour of organising a meaningful Iftar gathering for needy workers in Kabd. Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Allah, more people than expected came together to break their fast in dignity and peace. People from different nationalities sat side by side, sharing food, smiles, and prayers. It was a powerful reminder that compassion has no borders.
The joy on their faces, the heartfelt gratitude, and the silent duas they made were the true success of this initiative. Every meal served was not just food, but love, respect, and hope.
Deepest thanks to all generous supporters and tireless volunteers who made this noble effort possible. Your kindness created moments that will be remembered for a lifetime.
